SAN ANTONIO WOMAN SURVIVES DEADLY FLESH-EATING BACTERIA

Reported by: Michael Garofalo

(San Antonio, Texas (May 24, 2012)) - A 24-year-old graduate student in Georgia continues to fight for her life after losing both of her hands and feet to a flesh eating bacteria. Her battle is hitting close to home for a San Antonio woman. Adelle Copeland Brown twisted her ankle while at a golf tournament last September. Within days, as her pain intensified, she knew something was terribly wrong. When her doctor removed her soft cast, he recognized the flesh eating bacteria and immediately took her in for surgery. The move helped save her infected foot and ankle.
