NIX HEALTH CARE NAMED ONE OF COUNTRY'S TOP HYPERBARIC CENTERS
The Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society has renewed Nix’s accreditation for the third consecutive time. Nix became one of the first hospitals to earn UHMS accreditation in 2002 when the society beta tested the program at Nix.
Led by Drs. Duane Dietz and Enrique Almaguer, the center offers care to patients with diabetic foot wounds, radiation necrosis, venous stasis ulcers, pressure ulcers and other types of problem wounds inside a large walk-in hyperbaric chamber. Drs. Dietz and Almaguer are independent practitioners and are members of the NIX Health Care System in San Antonio.
The Nix Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Center has been in operation since 1986. More than 6,000 medical professionals have traveled around the world to train at the center.
